What are the rules around domain names?

If you register a domain name that already exists but the words are swopped around, eg euronames (that already exists) then you register one as nameseuros – what are the rules on this? Because I do not understand why you can buy the domain name but nothing is mentioned about the infringement law?

Well, domain names, like any other business names may be subject to Trademark and copyright laws as well. Trademarks are a well known “gotcha” for domain registrants. DON”T infringe, it will cost.

Note, in some cases even a domain name can be “trademarked” so you have to know all the issues. ICANN is a good source of information about domain names.
